Etsy Massacre's Shop of the month for June - BloodBath!!!

Our Etsy Massacre Shop of the Month for June is BloodBath!!! With a shop theme of "your flesh is dying for it..." this shop knows how to get your body tingling with fright!

What is your favorite horror movie related item in your shop at this very moment and why?
I would have to say my favorite item by far is the Dexter soap. I'm a huge Dexter fan and the bloodslide soap is just the perfect (useable) re-creation of his trophy slides. I feel they personify him down to his anal-retentive cleanliness and the package is completed with a blood orange scent. An interesting tidbit... this soap was actually purchased for and given to the writers and cast of Dexter for the third season premier. From what I understand, it was a huge hit!

What is it about horror movies that inspires you and your art??
My entire product line is inspired by horror movies, horror punk and horror art. I love the blood, the gore and the darkness of it all. I am a zombie fanatic!

Why did you join the Etsy Massacre Team??
I was invited to join awhile back and it seemed like the perfect fit. Bloodbath is all about a massacre!

A Bloody Good Gift

It's that time of year where all the little boils and ghouls are finally graduating! It's an exciting time! This is where you realize that all of your hard work has paid off and family and friends come to celebrate with food and gifts. I can see it now, everyone is having a good time, the graduate is opening gifts of money and is receiving unsolicited advice, then comes your gift. You though it would be clever and sentimental to give the grad a copy of Dr. Seuss's "Oh The Places You'll Go". This is what I like to call the cliche gift. Don't let this happen to you! As cute as that book might be it isn't creative and ill most likely end up collecting dust on a book shelf if it makes it that far.

My advice is think outside the box for that horror lover in your life that is graduating! Give them the gift that keeps on  scaring! Give them something that no one else would think to get them!

For the rest of May AGhoulsBestFriend will have a 25% OFF discount code! The code is: GRADUATIONDAY25. Take advantage while you can and give that grad a gift they will never forget!

Etsy Massacre's Shop of the month for May - AGhoulsBestFriend

Our Team's Shop of the month for May is no other then our wonderful member and Facebook team promoter AGhoulsBestFriend!!!!

1.What is your favorite horror movie related item in your shop at this very moment and why?
My favorite horror movie related item in my shop is The Tingler necklace I made. I had heard of the film ages, but never felt the need to watch it until my absolute favorite director, John Waters, raved about it in his one man show, This Filthy World. He would talk about the experience of seeing the film live and how there were "buzzers" placed under the seats of moviegoers that went off during climactic moments. John Waters is going to be on the cover of May's issue of Rue Morgue with a "tingler" wrapped around his shoulders!

2.What is it about horror movies that inspires you and your art??
I like to pride myself on making items that are "sweet and twisted". When I am making a hair clip out of a lovely rose I want a black rose. and as if that is not enough, I feel like an eyeball should be thrown in the center. The rose is probably my most favorite symbol in horror movies, next to bats and skulls of course. Roses are seen all over films, especially horror films. Think about all of the times you have watched a horror movie that had a funeral scene and people were leaving roses at the newly filled grave. There are many colored roses and each color has it's own meaning. Sometimes the darkest red roses are called 'black roses' and while they do symbolize the death of an idea or say farewell, they are also considered a positive message of rebirth and new beginnings.

3. Why did you join the Etsy Massacre Team?
I joined the Etsy Massacre Team because I wanted to be able to talk and share with others trying to be successful with their alternative art. So many times you will find teams on Etsy that are devoted to art, knitting, plushies, and jewelry making, but you hardly find an active team promoting those that are inspired by anything remotely macabre. I have been very pleased with the diversity of the team members and how eager people are in helping to promote one another!
